Description

NeatMail is an AI email assistant for Gmail and Outlook. It tracks every promise in your inbox, yours and theirs, and drafts the follow-up when it's due.

About NeatMail

What is NeatMail?

NeatMail is an AI email assistant for Gmail and Outlook that finds promises in email you send or receive and files them under one Follow up label. It also labels incoming mail, drafts replies, and can archive mail. It is source-available under the Elastic License 2.0 and can be self-hosted.

What NeatMail does

NeatMail scans new mail for a commitment with a deadline, whether the account made the promise or someone made it to the account, and files each one in a Follow up label with a due date. When a deadline is close, it drafts the delivery email. When someone else's promise is overdue, it drafts a nudge. The draft is reviewed before sending. Labeling categorizes incoming mail into labels such as Action Needed, Pending Response, Receipts, and Newsletters, and labels sync to Gmail or Outlook. Reassign a label once and NeatMail learns that preference for similar mail. Draft replies use past conversations, can check a calendar before suggesting a meeting time, and can pull context from Slack, GitHub, Notion, or HubSpot. Also on the page: auto file attachments, chat with mail, Telegram and Slack, archive rules, a morning brief, one-click unsubscribe, and bulk unsubscribe.

Who NeatMail is for

The FAQ is for professionals, freelancers, and solopreneurs who get 50 to 200 emails a day. NeatMail works inside the existing Gmail or Outlook client. Pro is for a focused individual. Max is for high-volume operators and includes 2 mailboxes.

How NeatMail works

Connect Gmail or Outlook with read-only OAuth. The page says the password never touches NeatMail servers. New mail is scanned for a promise, the promise is filed under Follow up with a date, and when a deadline hits NeatMail drafts what is needed. Paid plans are Pro and Max. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial of Max. A payment card is added to start the trial, and the card is not charged during the trial. The first payment has a 14-day money-back guarantee. Self-hosting requires a GitHub clone, Google Cloud credentials, an OpenAI API key, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

Frequently asked questions

How does promise tracking work?

NeatMail scans email you send or receive for a commitment with a deadline and files it in a Follow up label with a due date. It can draft the delivery email or a nudge. The draft is reviewed before sending. Tracking is unlimited on Pro and Max. Pro lists 50 follow-ups a month, separately from 100 AI draft replies. Max has no cap on either.

Where does email content stay?

The security answer says NeatMail does not store email content and retains only metadata. Access uses OAuth and you can revoke it from the Google or Microsoft account. The code is source-available under the Elastic License 2.0. Self-hosting keeps the data on infrastructure the operator runs.

What do Pro and Max include?

Both include unlimited promise tracking, unlimited custom labels, auto file attachments, chat with mail, and Telegram and Slack. Pro has 100 AI drafts a month, 50 follow-ups a month, and up to 25 archive rules. Max includes 2 mailboxes, unlimited drafts, follow-ups, and archive rules, advanced analytics, and priority support. Advanced analytics and priority support are not included on Pro.

How do the trial and the refund work?

The trial is 7 days and is of Max whichever plan you choose. Cancel before it ends to avoid the charge. After the first charge, there are 14 days to ask for a full refund of that payment. Renewals are not covered, and a second refund is not covered. Paid access ends once a refund is issued. Cancel from account settings. Paid features stay available until the end of the billing period already paid for.

What does self-hosting require?

Self-hosting is free under the Elastic License 2.0 for personal and commercial use. It requires Google Cloud credentials, an OpenAI API key, PostgreSQL, and Redis. Reselling a hosted version and creating a competing SaaS are restricted. Hosted plans are Pro or Max.
