What OpenAI dots can do with LotsDirectory

Once connected, OpenAI dots can:

  • Create and update your product listing, upload its images, and publish, schedule or unlist it.
  • Get your badge snippet and check that it is live on your website.
  • Read the weekly launch board and see where your product stands.
  • Find the directories that fit your product, prepare your product packet and record each submission you make.
  • Answer the questions visitors ask on your listing.
  • Read your listing’s views, clicks and Domain Rating (by Ahrefs).
  • Search and read the public listings in the directory.

The LotsDirectory dashboard does the whole job too: your listing, badge, launch week, directory submissions and analytics. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

You need

  • A ChatGPT account with dots access
  • A cloud or connected computer available to your dot
  • A LotsDirectory API key
  • A LotsDirectory account. You can create one during sign-in.

Connect OpenAI dots to LotsDirectory

  1. Create your LotsDirectory API key

Sign in to the LotsTech API page and create an API key. Your dot will use it to access LotsDirectory.

    https://www.lotstech.com/api
  2. Give your dot the API instructions

Ask your dot to use the REST API from its computer. Share the prompt below, then provide the key privately in the task environment, rather than in the conversation.

Use https://api.lots.directory/docs to connect LotsDirectory from your computer. Read the API reference, authenticate with my privately configured LOTSDIRECTORY_API_KEY and list my products on LotsDirectory. Never include the key in messages or logs.
  3. Give your dot the brief

Tell your dot what to work on in LotsDirectory. For recurring work, put the brief in the dot’s instructions. Start with read-only requests, then let it make changes.

What to ask next

  • “List my product from https://yourproduct.com on LotsDirectory”
  • “Show this week’s launches on LotsDirectory and where my product stands”
  • “Show me the directories that fit my product best and what each one asks for”
  • “I submitted to the first directory on my list. Record it with this note and show my progress”

If something goes wrong

My dot cannot access the API key
The dot’s cloud computer has its own environment. A key saved on your laptop is not automatically available there. Open the assigned computer or use a connected local computer, and configure the key privately for the task.

OpenAI dots and LotsDirectory: questions

How do I connect OpenAI dots to LotsDirectory?

Use the LotsDirectory REST API from OpenAI dots’s computer. Create an API key at https://www.lotstech.com/api, configure it privately for the task and share https://api.lots.directory/docs with your agent. Ask it for something read-only first.

Does LotsDirectory include its own always-on agent?

Your dot handles the recurring work. This guide connects its computer to the LotsDirectory REST API. LotsDirectory holds your product listings and directory submissions and returns results to your dot.

Do I need an API key to use LotsDirectory with OpenAI dots?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where OpenAI dots offers sign-in, use that instead.

What does LotsDirectory cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lots.directory/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

Can my agent change other people’s listings?

No. Your agent can search and read public listings, and it can change only the listings your account owns.

Does my agent submit my product to other directories?

Your agent and the dashboard work through the same directory list and the same records. Your agent reads what each directory asks for, prepares your product packet and records each submission, and you complete the steps a directory asks of its owner.

Will I see my agent’s changes in my dashboard?

Yes. The dashboard and your agent use the same records, so a listing your agent creates or updates is the one you see in your dashboard.

My dot cannot access the API key

The dot’s cloud computer has its own environment. A key saved on your laptop is not automatically available there. Open the assigned computer or use a connected local computer, and configure the key privately for the task.
