## Detailed info

## What is HitKeep?

HitKeep is open-source, cookieless web analytics for traffic and conversions, on HitKeep Cloud or self-hosted. Cloud regions are EU Frankfurt or US Virginia, and the application is MIT-licensed.

## What HitKeep does

HitKeep follows sources, events, goals, funnels, ecommerce, UTM campaigns, QR campaigns, and Search Console in one reporting surface. It also reports AI crawler fetches, AI-referred human visits, and chatbot outcomes. Optional Ask AI works on aggregate, site-scoped analytics, cites the evidence supplied to the answer, and cannot bypass permissions or redefine the calculations. Sharing uses scheduled reports, revocable share links, open exports, scoped API clients, signed webhooks, and optional read-only MCP. The tracker sets no analytics cookies by default.

## Who HitKeep is for

Free is for a production site, a side project, or an evaluation. Pro is for teams that need more sites, longer history, and custom tracking domains. Business is for agencies reporting across client sites, with OIDC SSO on Cloud. Self-hosting is for teams that run the same analytics foundation themselves.

## How HitKeep works

Create a Cloud workspace and choose EU Frankfurt or US Virginia, or self-host the same MIT-licensed application. The browser tracker uses a short-lived, origin-local sessionStorage identifier and sets no analytics cookies by default. It does not build a cross-site identity. Reports cover traffic, events, goals, funnels, and search and AI signals. Site takeout exports JSON, CSV, Parquet, NDJSON, and XLSX. Import into another HitKeep instance is not automatic. Cloud adds managed accounts, billing, updates, backups, and email delivery.

## Key features

- Cookieless tracking by default, with Do Not Track respected unless collection is explicitly configured otherwise.
- Traffic, events, goals, multi-step funnels, ecommerce revenue, UTM campaigns, and QR campaigns are on every plan.
- Search Console import, AI crawler fetches, AI-referred visits, chatbot analytics, and Web Vitals reporting are included.
- Site takeout supports JSON, CSV, Parquet, NDJSON, and XLSX. Share links, the REST API, signed webhooks, and read-only MCP use the same permissions.
- Sign-in with Google, GitHub, and Microsoft is included, and a first-party WordPress plugin and a server-side ingest API.
- Pro adds custom tracking domains, on-demand TLS, and external scheduled-report recipients.
- Business on Cloud adds OIDC SSO. Self-hosted HitKeep includes SSO without a plan gate.
- Self-hosting runs without provisioning a separate database, queue, or cache. Cloud and self-host share the analytics engine.
