About Chorey: chores and allowance
What is Chorey: chores and allowance?
Chorey is a chore and allowance app that helps parents assign paid chores, approve finished work, and split every reward into 40% spend, 40% save, and 20% give. Kids get a code-based app while parents keep control, and v1 has no bank account or real money movement.
What Chorey: chores and allowance does
Parents pick chores from a library or write their own, such as feed the dog, make the bed, or help with groceries, and each paid chore has a value the parent can choose. A child checks off a chore and it goes to the parent for review. Approval splits the reward into spend, save, and give, and the points land. The default split is 40/40/20 and the split can be adjusted. Spend has a wishlist. Save is a goal jar with no spend button. Give is a cause the child picks, such as animals, hunger, or the planet. There are 100 levels, earned and never bought. Early levels come fast, one chore gets to level 2, and then each level costs a little more. A giant reward can't buy a level. There are no streaks, and levels only go up. A checked-off chore is not paid until it is approved. The family settles up outside the app with cash, a bank transfer, or a pocket money jar.
Who Chorey: chores and allowance is for
Parents who want chores to teach money habits, including multiple kids on one approval flow. The FAQ is for kids old enough to understand chores, goals, and money buckets, especially ages 5 to 13, and older kids can still use it. Children join with a private code and never see billing, prices, or a sign-up form.
How Chorey: chores and allowance works
A parent sets chores and a weekly budget cap, then a child joins with a private access code that looks like CHOREY-XXXXXXXX. The child app has no email and no billing. The child checks off a chore, the parent approves or sends it back with a reason, and the virtual ledger tracks the split. Chorey is live on the iPhone App Store. Android is next. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple ID and managed by Apple. Cancel in Settings on iPhone or iPad, then Subscriptions, then Chorey. Canceling keeps access until the end of the current billing period. Restore Purchases is there after the app is re-installed on the same Apple ID.
