About ApiJolt

What is ApiJolt?

ApiJolt is a document and HTML to PDF conversion API. It is in free beta, with full API access from the first request and no time limit.

What ApiJolt does

One endpoint covers HTML, a URL, Markdown, word files, spreadsheets, presentations, and images. HTML and URL conversion uses Headless Chrome with full CSS and JS. Markdown uses a GFM parser. Word, spreadsheet, and presentation files use LibreOffice. Images use ImageMagick. Converted files are purged after 60 minutes.

Who ApiJolt is for

The Invoice plan is for indie developers shipping PDF generation. Launch, Automate, and Studio are described for products, document workflows, and agencies, and those paid plans are coming soon.

How ApiJolt works

An HTTP request gets the PDF back as binary, the default, or as base64 inside JSON. Base64 fits n8n, Zapier, and Make with no extra file step. An MCP server is listed for Cursor and Claude Code. The first conversion is described as under 5 minutes. Files are deleted after 1 hour.

Key features

  • HTML and any URL convert through Headless Chrome with full CSS and JS, on html-to-pdf and url-to-pdf.
  • Markdown converts through a GFM parser and Chrome, including tables, code blocks, and task lists, on markdown-to-pdf.
  • DOCX, DOC, ODT, and RTF convert through LibreOffice on word-to-pdf. XLSX, XLS, ODS, and CSV convert on spreadsheet-to-pdf. PPTX, PPT, and ODP convert on presentation-to-pdf.
  • JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and TIFF convert through ImageMagick on image-to-pdf.
  • convert-to-pdf is auto-detected, with no guessing and no config.
  • Response types are binary and base64. Base64 fits n8n, Zapier, and Make.
  • Converted files are purged after 60 minutes and deleted after 1 hour. Documents are not logged and not used for training.
  • Languages include Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, and .NET, and anything with HTTP. No-code options include n8n, Zapier, Make, Airtable, and Notion.
