# Connect Claude Code to LotsDirectory

Canonical page: https://lots.directory/agents/claude-code
Steps checked: 2026-10-05

Ask Claude Code to list your product on LotsDirectory and keep track of your directory submissions. Add LotsDirectory to Claude Code as a remote MCP server and sign in once.

MCP server URL: https://api.lots.directory/mcp
REST API docs: https://api.lots.directory/docs
Setup instructions for your agent: https://lots.directory/skill.md

## What you can do once connected

- Create and update your product listing, upload its images, and publish, schedule or unlist it.
- Get your badge snippet and check that it is live on your website.
- Read the weekly launch board and see where your product stands.
- Find the directories that fit your product, prepare your product packet and record each submission you make.
- Answer the questions visitors ask on your listing.
- Read your listing’s views, clicks and Domain Rating (by Ahrefs).
- Search and read the public listings in the directory.

The LotsDirectory dashboard does the whole job too: your listing, badge, launch week, directory submissions and analytics. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

## You need

- Claude Code with a Claude plan
- A LotsDirectory account. You can create one during sign-in.

## Connect Claude Code to LotsDirectory

1. **Add the server.** Run this in your terminal. It adds LotsDirectory to the current project; nothing else to install.

```
claude mcp add --transport http lotsdirectory https://api.lots.directory/mcp
```

Every project:

```
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user lotsdirectory https://api.lots.directory/mcp
```

2. **Sign in from Claude Code.** Start Claude Code and run /mcp. Select lotsdirectory, choose Authenticate, then choose Allow on the LotsDirectory page that opens in your browser.

```
/mcp
```

3. **Check the connection.** Back in Claude Code, ask a read-only question to confirm the tools work.

```
List my products on LotsDirectory
```

## What to ask next

- “List my product from https://yourproduct.com on LotsDirectory”
- “Show this week’s launches on LotsDirectory and where my product stands”
- “Show me the directories that fit my product best and what each one asks for”
- “I submitted to the first directory on my list. Record it with this note and show my progress”
- “Get my LotsDirectory badge snippet, add it to the footer of this site, then check that it is live”

## Questions and troubleshooting

### How do I connect Claude Code to LotsDirectory?

Follow the Claude Code setup above to add https://api.lots.directory/mcp. Complete sign-in using the authentication method shown. Then ask “List my products on LotsDirectory”.

### Can I add LotsDirectory to every Claude Code project?

Yes. Use the second command in step 1 (the --scope user variant) to add LotsDirectory for every project on your computer instead of the current one.

### Do I need an API key to use LotsDirectory with Claude Code?

No. Claude Code signs in to LotsDirectory in your browser. API keys are for the REST API, for scripts and your own apps.

### What does LotsDirectory cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lots.directory/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

### Can my agent change other people’s listings?

No. Your agent can search and read public listings, and it can change only the listings your account owns.

### Does my agent submit my product to other directories?

Your agent and the dashboard work through the same directory list and the same records. Your agent reads what each directory asks for, prepares your product packet and records each submission, and you complete the steps a directory asks of its owner.

### Will I see my agent’s changes in my dashboard?

Yes. The dashboard and your agent use the same records, so a listing your agent creates or updates is the one you see in your dashboard.

### lotsdirectory shows as needing authentication

Run /mcp, select lotsdirectory and choose Authenticate, or run claude mcp login lotsdirectory in your terminal.

### The browser says Claude Code registered itself and is not verified

That is normal for Claude Code: it registers with each MCP server and receives the sign-in on your own computer. Allow it when the return address is localhost.
